You may not make, sell, have, or show a medal or decoration covered here unless the chapter allows it or the Secretary of Transportation gives permission. If you break this rule, you must pay the U.S. government a civil fine of up to $2,000.

(a)Except as authorized by this chapter or the Secretary of Transportation, a person may not manufacture, sell, possess, or display a decoration or medal provided for in this chapter.
(b)A person violating this section is liable to the United States Government for a civil penalty of not more than $2,000.
