Title 46 › Subtitle Subtitle V— - Merchant Marine › Part Part C— - Financial Assistance Programs › Chapter CHAPTER 535— - CAPITAL CONSTRUCTION FUNDS › § 53514
People with a capital construction fund started before October 21, 1970 can keep that old fund, but they can't keep money in it past the original agreement's end date (ignoring any extension made after April 14, 1970), and they can't operate the old fund at the same time as a new fund under this chapter. If they create a new fund, they may move some or all items from the old fund into the proper new accounts as tax-free transfers. For deposit-date rules, the transfer counts as made on July 1, 1971 or on the date it was put in the old fund, whichever is later.
