§1602 Prohibition on use of certain Federal subsidies

Summary

Federal subsidies from programs run by the Commission that pay to build advanced communications networks must not be used to buy, lease, or maintain any "covered communications equipment or service." Covered items are those the Commission puts on the list under section 1601(a). The ban starts 60 days after the Commission adds an item to that list; items on the initial list count from the list’s publication date. The Commission must issue a Report and Order within 180 days after March 12, 2020. Actions done before that date do not have to be redone unless they conflict.
