To be a Delegate, a person must be at least 25 years old on election day. They must have been a U.S. citizen for at least 7 years before the election and must have lived and made their home in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands for at least 7 years before the election. They must be qualified to vote there on election day and must not be a candidate for any other office on that day.
