Title 48 › Chapter CHAPTER 18— - MICRONESIA, MARSHALL ISLANDS, AND PALAU › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER IV— - MICRONESIA, MARSHALL ISLANDS, AND PALAU: 2023 AGREEMENTS › § 1990
From fiscal year 2024 through 2043, money is given to the Compact of Free Association account at the Department of the Interior to pay for certain parts of the 2023 amended compacts with the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of the Marshall Islands (sections 261, 265, and 266) and for Articles 1–3 of the 2023 Palau Compact Review Agreement. For each of those years, $31,700,000 is provided to the United States Postal Service to cover specific postal costs in those compacts and the Palau review agreement. That money goes into the Postal Service Fund under section 2003 of title 39 and the Postal Service is responsible for managing and auditing it. The Secretary of the Interior also gets $550,000 each year for fiscal years 2024 through 2043 to carry out section 1988(d). The totals for the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of the Marshall Islands under the first paragraph will be reduced by amounts they already received under section 2101(a) of the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2024 (Public Law 118–15; 137 Stat. 81), as amended by section 101 of division B of Public Law 118–22 (137 Stat. 114) and section 201 of Public Law 118–35 (138 Stat. 7).
