Bumper standard is a basic performance rule that cuts front or rear damage in low-speed crashes or when towing, and lowers repair costs. Insurer is a person who sells or reinsures any part of a passenger motor vehicle insurance policy. Interstate commerce is trade between a place in one State and a place in another State, or between two places in the same State that go through another State. Make is the vehicle’s manufacturer trade name. Manufacturer is a person who assembles or imports motor vehicles or their equipment for resale. Model is a category of a make based on size, style, and type. Motor vehicle is a machine powered mechanically for use mainly on public roads, not a rail-only vehicle. Motor vehicle accident is an accident from operating or maintaining a passenger vehicle or its equipment. Multipurpose passenger vehicle is a passenger vehicle built on a truck frame or made for occasional off-road use. Passenger motor vehicle is a motor vehicle designed to carry not more than 12 individuals, but not a motorcycle or a truck not mainly for carrying people. Passenger motor vehicle equipment covers original parts, replacement or improved parts and accessories, and devices for towing passenger vehicles. State includes the 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Virgin Islands. United States district court includes the U.S. district courts and the U.S. courts for Guam, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
