The Secretary of Transportation can investigate how an airline is run. The Secretary may require the airline, or any person or company that controls the airline, is controlled by it, or is under the same control, to give any information the Secretary thinks is needed. The Secretary can meet and hold joint hearings with a state authority. The Secretary can also share aviation-related information with a foreign government, but only through the proper U.S. government departments or agencies.
