Summary

After December 11, 2014, the Secretary of Transportation cannot offer insurance or reinsurance under most parts of this law, except for two specific parts that stay allowed. The Secretary’s ability to provide that coverage for a U.S. department, agency, or instrumentality under one of those parts ends on September 30, 2028.

(a)The authority of the Secretary of Transportation to provide insurance and reinsurance under any provision of this chapter other than section 44302a and 44305 is not effective after December 11, 2014.
(b)The authority of the Secretary of Transportation to provide insurance and reinsurance for a department, agency, or instrumentality of the United States Government under section 44305 is not effective after September 30, 2028.
