Summary

If no other criminal penalty applies, a person who knowingly and willfully breaks a rule in this part, an order from the Secretary of Transportation (or the TSA or FAA Administrator for duties they handle), or a term of a certificate or permit under sections 41102, 41103, or 41302 must be fined under Title 18. Each day the violation continues is a separate offense. This rule does not apply to most provisions in chapters 401, 441, 445, 447, and 449, but it still applies to sections 40103(a) and (d), 40105, 40116, 40117; 44109; 44718(a); and 44902, 44903(d), 44904, and 44907–44909.
