Knowingly giving false information about an attempt to commit an act covered by sections 46502(a), 46504, 46505, or 46506 where people could reasonably believe it is a crime. Threatening such an act (or causing the threat) while appearing ready and willing to carry it out is a crime too. Penalty: fine under title 18, up to 5 years in prison, or both.
