Makes it a crime for anyone — including federal or public agency officers, agents, or employees — who, intending to cheat the Government, knowingly lies about a project tied to a grant sent to the Secretary of Transportation under this part of the law. It covers false statements about materials, work, or costs in plans or cost estimates; false claims for work or materials on an approved grant project; and false statements in required reports or certifications. A person convicted can be fined under Title 18, sent to prison for up to 5 years, or both.
