Title 49 › Subtitle SUBTITLE VII— - AVIATION PROGRAMS › Part PART B— - AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT AND NOISE › Chapter CHAPTER 471— - AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III— - AVIATION DEVELOPMENT STREAMLINING › § 47172
Allows the FAA to set flight paths or rules that cut down serious noise from runway projects at crowded airports. The FAA can do this during the project's environmental review and, if the changes are safe and practical, agree at the airport’s request to put those rules into the project’s approval and follow federal law. Even if the FAA made that promise, it can change the flight rules later if new information or conditions make a change needed to keep flying safe and efficient.
