§5306 Private enterprise participation in metropolitan planning and transportation improvement programs and relationship to other limitations

Title 49 › Subtitle SUBTITLE III— - GENERAL AND INTERMODAL PROGRAMS › Chapter CHAPTER 53— - PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION › § 5306

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

Plans under sections 5303, 5304, or 5305 must encourage private businesses to take part when local policies allow. If an urban-area facility or equipment is being bought, the program must make it better to serve local transportation needs. Those sections do not let a metropolitan planning organization force legal rules on a facility, provider, or project that is not eligible under this chapter or title 23, and they do not allow interfering with the management of a transportation authority.
