Agencies can pay for temporary housing and basic living costs for law enforcement workers or similar employees, and their immediate family, when their lives are threatened because of the worker’s duties. These payments apply while they live in temporary housing at or away from their usual work site. If they must move away from their normal work site, the agency head can also approve travel costs to and from the temporary location.
