An employee gets a total of 2 administrative workweeks of paid leave during any 12-month period if their son or daughter dies. The leave can’t be used in separate pieces or on a reduced schedule unless the employee and the agency both agree. If the need for the leave can be predicted, the employee must give the agency reasonable and practical notice. employee — the worker as defined in section 6381. son or daughter — the family relationship as defined in section 6381. paid leave — leave where the worker does not lose pay, other leave they are entitled to, or credit for time or service.
