Defines key words used in the chapter. “National security laboratory” names three specific labs: Los Alamos National Laboratory (Los Alamos, New Mexico), Sandia National Laboratories (Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Livermore, California), and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (Livermore, California). “Nuclear weapons production facility” names five specific sites (Kansas City National Security Campus; Pantex Plant; Y–12 National Security Complex; Savannah River Site; Nevada National Security Site) and also any DOE facility the Secretary of Energy, after consulting the Administrator and Congress, says fits the Administration’s mission. “Classified information” means information that under Executive Order No. 12333 (December 4, 1981), Executive Order No. 12958 (April 17, 1995), or later orders is marked as needing protection. “Restricted Data” has the meaning given in section 2014(y) of title 42. “Congressional defense committees” means the Senate and House Armed Services and Appropriations Committees. “Nuclear security enterprise” means the buildings, technology, and people of those labs and production sites.
