Title 50 › Chapter CHAPTER 50— - SERVICEMEMBERS CIVIL RELIEF › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER II— - GENERAL RELIEF › § 3933
When a court puts a contract case on hold under this law, penalties for not following the contract stop adding up during the hold. If a service member fails to meet a contract duty and a penalty is charged, a court can lower or cancel that penalty if the person was in military service when the penalty happened and their military service seriously made it harder for them to do what the contract required.
