The Attorney General can file a federal civil lawsuit against anyone who repeatedly breaks this law or whose violation raises a major public concern. A court can order fixes or decide rights, award money to people harmed, and, to protect the public, impose fines up to $55,000 for a first offense and up to $110,000 for later offenses. A harmed person can join the case in time and seek the same relief, plus costs and a reasonable lawyer fee.
