§4585 Public database of covered foreign persons

Summary

The Secretary, working with the Secretary of Commerce, can create a public database that names covered foreign persons linked to prohibited or notifiable technologies under this subchapter. They can also set up a process for a covered foreign person to ask to be added or removed from that database. The Secretary must provide a confidential way for the public — including Congress, stakeholders, investors, and nongovernmental organizations — to submit evidence about whether someone should be on the list. The database must not be treated as a complete list of covered foreign persons for this subchapter.
