§70703 Tasks of Commission

Summary

The Commission must, as much as possible, investigate an incident, find its cause and all contributing factors, recommend fixes and any other important findings, and report to Congress, the President, and the public.

Title 51, §70703

National and Commercial Space Programs — Source: USLM XML via OLRC

A Commission established pursuant to this chapter shall, to the extent possible, undertake the following tasks:
(1)Investigate the incident.
(2)Determine the cause of the incident.
(3)Identify all contributing factors to the cause of the incident.
(4)Make recommendations for corrective actions.
(5)Provide any additional findings or recommendations deemed by the Commission to be important, whether or not they are related to the specific incident under investigation.
(6)Prepare a report to Congress, the President, and the public.
