The Commission can hold hearings, meet when needed, gather testimony and evidence, and swear in witnesses to do its work. It can also get information directly from any federal department or agency, and the head of that agency must give the information when the Commission asks. The Commission can use the U.S. mail like other federal agencies. If the Commission asks, the Administrator of General Services must provide needed administrative support that the Commission will pay for. The Commission may hire and pay people or federal agencies for supplies and services without following section 6101 of title 41.
