Summary

Create a National Park Foundation board made up of at least six private U.S. citizens chosen by the Secretary. The Secretary and the Director are also on the board because of their jobs, but they cannot vote. Private members serve 6-year terms, and if someone fills a vacancy they only serve the rest of that term. The board elects a chair from its members for a 2-year term. Being a board member does not count as holding a federal office. A majority of current members is needed to do business. The Foundation has an official seal courts must accept. The chair calls meetings and the board must meet at least once a year. Board members are not paid for their service, but the Foundation will pay back reasonable travel and living expenses they incur while doing board duties, from funds set aside for that.
