Summary

The National Park Foundation can accept and manage donations of land, property, money, or income from them to help or work with the National Park Service. Before taking or using such gifts, the Foundation must talk with the Director to make sure the gift fits the Service’s programs and policies. The Foundation may also accept gifts that have restrictions or private interests if any current or future part benefits the Service. The Foundation must not accept a gift that would require spending money beyond the Foundation’s own resources. Interest in real property means things like easements or other rights that help preserve, protect, conserve, or improve public natural, scenic, historic, scientific, educational, inspirational, or recreational resources.
