Summary

Money approved and provided for new construction, repair, or rehab of housing must be spent by following the housing priority list the Secretary made under section 101339, in order, as much as possible. Each fiscal year, the President’s proposed budget to Congress must identify nonconstruction funds, beyond rental receipts collected, that will be used for Service housing maintenance and operations.

(a)Expenditure of any funds authorized and appropriated for new construction, repair, or rehabilitation of housing under this chapter shall follow the housing priority listing established by the Secretary under section 101339 of this title, in sequential order, to the maximum extent practicable.

(b)Each fiscal year the President’s proposed budget to Congress shall include identification of nonconstruction funds to be spent for Service housing maintenance and operations that are in addition to rental receipts collected.
