Summary

The Center may accept private gifts and transfers from other federal agencies and, if funded, enter contracts with governments, Native Hawaiian organizations, and other public entities; its money must be extra to Service programs, centers, and offices that existed on October 30, 1992.

(a)The Center may accept—
(1)grants and donations from private individuals, groups, organizations, corporations, foundations, and other entities; and
(2)transfers of funds from other Federal agencies.
(b)Subject to appropriations, the Center may enter into contracts and cooperative agreements with Federal, State, local, and tribal governments, Native Hawaiian organizations, educational institutions, and other public entities to carry out the Center’s responsibilities under this chapter.
(c)Funds appropriated for the Center shall be in addition to funds appropriated for Service programs, centers, and offices in existence on October 30, 1992.
