Title 54 › Subtitle Subtitle III— - National Preservation Programs › Chapter CHAPTER 3071— - MISCELLANEOUS › § 307103
A federal agency head or a public official who gets grant money must keep some information about a historic property secret after talking with the Secretary. They must not tell the public where the property is, what it’s like, or who owns it if saying so could cause a major invasion of privacy, put the property at risk of damage, or make it harder for people to use a traditional religious site. If they decide to keep the information secret, the Secretary and the agency head will decide who is allowed to see it so the work can be done. If the information came from work under sections 306107 or 306108, the Secretary must also talk with the Council before making these decisions.
