Title 54 › Subtitle Subtitle III— - National Preservation Programs › Chapter CHAPTER 3085— - NATIONAL WOMEN’S RIGHTS HISTORY PROJECT › § 308501
The Secretary may give yearly grants to State historic preservation offices for up to 5 years to help them find, study, and nominate women’s rights history sites to the National Register of Historic Places. Grants should be given first to work on places tied to many parts of the women’s rights movement, such as politics, economics, education, religion, and social or family life. The Secretary must update the National Register travel itinerary website called “Places Where Women Made History” with the inventory results and links to related websites. The federal share of any costs paid with these grants is 50 percent. Congress authorized $1,000,000 for the Secretary for each of fiscal years 2012 and 2013 to carry out this work.
