§1154 Public awareness

Summary

The Secretary must create a national plan for public outreach and awareness about railroad and over-the-road bus security no later than 180 days after August 3, 2007. The plan must tell the public, passengers, and carrier employees what actions they can take to help keep the rail and over-the-road bus systems safer, and it must inform carriers and their workers about available security technologies, ongoing research, and federal funding to improve security. No later than 9 months after August 3, 2007, the Secretary must put the plan into action.
