The Secretary must make sure certain agencies share inspection information about things imported into the United States. Affected agencies are: the Department (the main department named in the law), the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Health and Human Services, and any other department or agency the Secretary decides is appropriate. The Secretary must work with those agencies so they exchange timely and useful inspection information when one or more of them inspects or regulates an imported item. Within 18 months after November 25, 2002, the Secretary must send Congress a report on progress and a plan to finish putting this in place.
