Before issuing regulations under this subchapter, the Administrator must ask the Secretary of Agriculture for views using the process in section 136w(a). For public‑health pesticides, the Administrator must also ask the Secretary of Health and Human Services for views in the same way described in section 136w(a)(2). The Administrator must publish timely notice of hearings in the Federal Register. When suspending or canceling a pesticide registration or taking other actions under this subchapter, the Administrator may ask interested people and experts (for example, scientists, farmers, or farm groups) for input, either orally or in writing.
