Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 6A— - NATIONAL LABORATORY ACCREDITATION › § 138e
Labs or people who test, arrange, or broker pesticide testing of food must write a report when they find pesticide residues that either have no allowed tolerance, exceed the allowed tolerance, or are no longer allowed because the tolerance was revoked or the chemical is banned. They must send that report at the same time to the Secretary, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and the food’s owner as soon as possible after the test is finished. The Secretary must make simple, standard reporting rules and give those rules to accredited labs and others who need information about pesticide tolerances.
