Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 35A— - PRICE SUPPORT OF AGRICULTURAL COMMODITIES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER II— - BASIC AGRICULTURAL COMMODITIES › § 1444e–1
For the 1986 through 1996 feed‑grain crops, the Secretary of Agriculture can offer loans and purchases to farmers who cut corn for silage they grew that year or who bought or traded corn from another grower that year, and who take part in the Secretary’s acreage‑limitation or set‑aside program for that corn. The loan or purchase can cover non‑silage corn the farmer gets. The covered amount equals the acres used for silage multiplied by the lower of two yields: the farm program payment yield or the actual yield on a similar field as the Secretary decides.
