§1446c Domestic disposal programs for dairy products

Summary
The Secretary of Agriculture must run programs to get rid of or use extra dairy products so too much milk, cheese, or butter does not pile up. The programs are done under the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938 (7 U.S.C. 1281 et seq.), the Agricultural Act of 1949 (7 U.S.C. 1421 et seq.), or any other law that allows it.

In order to prevent the accumulation of excessive inventories of dairy products the Secretary of Agriculture shall undertake domestic disposal programs under authorities granted in the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938 [7 U.S.C. 1281 et seq.] and the Agricultural Act of 1949, as amended [7 U.S.C. 1421 et seq.], or as otherwise authorized by law.

Report of Dairy Product Purchases Pub. L. 101–624, title I, § 105, Nov. 28, 1990, 104 Stat. 3379, provided that: “The Secretary of Agriculture shall make available to the public quarterly evaluations of the acquisition and disposal of Commodity Credit Corporation purchases of dairy products.”
