Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 38— - DISTRIBUTION AND MARKETING OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER I— - GENERAL PROVISIONS › § 1633
The Secretary of Agriculture can make agreements with state agriculture departments and other state agencies to avoid duplicate work, save money, and better enforce federal rules about selling farm products and stopping plant and animal diseases and pests. If a state agency has the right facilities, staff, and procedures, the Secretary can let it help as he thinks is appropriate and in the public interest. These agreements can also coordinate how federal and state laws are carried out. Nothing here changes the Secretary’s federal powers or any legal limits on cooperation.
