Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 41— - FOOD FOR PEACE › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER IV— - GENERAL AUTHORITIES AND REQUIREMENTS › § 1736dd
The Secretary of Agriculture must gather information from USDA mission areas, including Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services, about ways to improve international food security. International food security means people always have access to enough nutritious food for a healthy, productive life. The Secretary must organize and share that information for public education and for use by U.S. federal, state, and local agencies; foreign governments; domestic and international organizations and NGOs; and intergovernmental bodies. On request, the Secretary may provide technical help to run food-security programs. Priority must go to building food and nutrition safety-net systems in food-insecure countries. Up to $1,000,000 is authorized for each fiscal year 2019 through 2023 to do this work.
