Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 55— - DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE › § 2217
Gives the Secretary of Agriculture the power to name USDA officers, agents, or employees who can give or take oaths, affirmations, or affidavits when those statements are needed in prosecutions or other cases enforcing laws the Department handles. If the statement is signed by the named person and stamped with the Department seal, federal courts must accept it as if a court clerk had sworn it, without extra proof of the official’s identity or authority.
