Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 64— - AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH, EXTENSION, AND TEACHING › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER V— - ANIMAL HEALTH AND DISEASE RESEARCH › § 3191
Promotes better health and productivity of farm animals, poultry, fish, and other animals that provide food or income. It also aims to improve horse health, prevent and treat animal diseases in both domestic and wild animals that could ruin livestock and the food supply, make food from animals safer by controlling harmful organisms and residues, improve animal housing and handling, reduce losses during transport, protect people from diseases that come from animals, control predator births, and expand research and outreach on animal health. The law says research would work better if federal and state colleges and universities coordinate closely. It also says veterinary schools and agricultural experiment stations are especially important for training animal health researchers.
