The Secretary may create and run a cooperative rangeland research program with the Renewable Resources Extension Act program to improve how native forages and similar introduced plants are grown and used for livestock and wildlife. The research will cover managing rangelands and nearby farmland together to make better use of crops and wastes; managing watersheds to use and protect water, prevent flood and erosion damage, and fix unstable rangelands; revegetation and restoration including control of unwanted plants; and other topics the Secretary finds appropriate.
