The Agriculture Secretary may transfer free U.S. interest in the land, water rights, buildings, and improvements of certain field stations to the State where located if the Secretary decides it will better serve agricultural research: Huntley, Montana; Mitchell, Nebraska; Fallon, Nevada; Tucumcari, New Mexico; Hermiston, Oregon; Sheridan, Wyoming. If any land is public land, only the Secretary of the Interior may transfer it or grant needed use rights.
