Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 26— - AGRICULTURAL ADJUSTMENT › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III— - COMMODITY BENEFITS › § 611
Names which farm products count as a "basic agricultural commodity": wheat, rye, flax, barley, cotton, field corn, grain sorghums, hogs, cattle, rice, potatoes, tobacco, sugar beets and sugarcane, peanuts, and milk and its products, including any regional or market classification, type, or grade of these. The Secretary of Agriculture can remove any listed commodity or any of its classifications, types, or grades from this chapter for any time if, after investigating and after giving notice and a chance for a hearing to interested parties, the Secretary finds that how the commodity is produced, marketed, and consumed makes the chapter impossible to administer effectively to carry out its policy. "Potatoes" means all varieties of the species Solanum tuberosum.
