Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 95— - RURAL REVITALIZATION THROUGH FORESTRY › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER II— - NATIONAL FOREST-DEPENDENT RURAL COMMUNITIES › § 6614
Action plans must be carried out, when practical, to help industries use natural resources more efficiently and to grow rural economies so they rely less on National Forest System lands. The Secretary may give grants, agreements, or contracts with rural communities and partners. Federal funding may pay up to 80 percent of a plan’s total cost, and must count the fair market value of equipment, personnel, and services provided. The Secretary may use other government authorities, including the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act, and actions must follow land and resource management plans.
