Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 97— - FRESH CUT FLOWERS AND FRESH CUT GREENS PROMOTION AND INFORMATION › § 6801
Creates a national program paid for by a small fee collected when handlers sell cut flowers and cut greens to retailers and related buyers in the United States. The program will run broad promotions, share consumer information, and fund related research to help the flower and greens industry keep, grow, and find new markets. Congress found that fresh cut flowers and greens are widely used and matter to many people. Many small and medium growers and handlers make and move these products. Handlers buy most flowers, get them ready for stores, and move them into commerce. Flowers and greens cross state and national lines, and even local sales affect wider markets. Existing state programs help, but a coordinated national effort is needed to protect markets in existence on December 14, 1993, and to build new ones.
