Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 98— - DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE REORGANIZATION › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER V— - NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT › § 6961
Allows the Secretary to create an Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment. If created, the President must appoint that person and the Senate must approve. The Under Secretary gets the Department’s natural‑resources and environment duties, except those already assigned under section 6932, and any other duties required by law or given by the Secretary. A person who was an Assistant Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment on October 13, 1994, and who was appointed by the President with Senate approval, does not need to be reappointed if the Secretary creates the new Under Secretary post and moves that person into it within 180 days after October 13, 1994 (or a later date the Secretary sets if litigation delays the move).
