Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 32— - PEANUT STATISTICS › § 951
The Secretary of Agriculture must collect and publish numbers about peanuts and peanut oil in the United States. This covers shelled, unshelled, and crushed peanuts and peanut oil that are received, processed, shipped, or held by warehousemen, brokers, cleaners, shellers, dealers, growers’ cooperatives, crushers, salters, peanut-product makers, and owners who are not the original growers. The Secretary can skip collecting data from any salters or manufacturers who used less than 30,000 pounds of shelled and unshelled peanuts in the prior calendar year. The reports must show peanut types—Virginias, Runners, Spanish, and imported varieties—as the Secretary needs, and must be sent in every month unless the Secretary sets a different schedule.
