Title 8 › Chapter CHAPTER 12— - IMMIGRATION AND NATIONALITY › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER II— - IMMIGRATION › Part Part IX— - Miscellaneous › § 1353
When officers, inspectors, or other employees of the Service are sent to work in a foreign country, moved between stations in the United States or abroad, or while working abroad become eligible to retire and return to the United States, their travel costs must be paid under rules the Attorney General sets. The Attorney General may also approve in writing payment to move their spouse, dependent children, and household goods (including packing, freight, unpacking, and temporary storage) under subchapter II of chapter 57 of title 5. If such an employee dies while serving in or traveling to a foreign country, the Attorney General may, in writing, pay to return the remains to their former U.S. home and cover ordinary burial and shipment-preparation costs.
