The Attorney General may cancel a certificate of citizenship, a certificate of naturalization, a copy of a declaration of intention, or other similar records if they were obtained or made by fraud or other illegal acts, whether they were issued by the Attorney General, the Commissioner, or a Deputy Commissioner. The person named must get a written notice at their last-known address explaining the reasons and be given at least 60 days to respond. Canceling the paper affects only the document itself and not the person's citizenship.
