Title 8 › Chapter CHAPTER 16— - IMMIGRATION FEES › § 1805
Anyone applying for special immigrant juvenile status — the child, their parent, or their legal guardian — must pay an extra fee in addition to any other required fees. The head of Homeland Security sets the fee amount under this rule. For fiscal year 2025, the fee is whichever is higher: $250 or an amount the Secretary of Homeland Security sets by rule. For fiscal year 2026 and every year after, the fee equals the previous year’s fee plus an increase based on how much the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) for July rose compared to July of the year before, and then that increase is rounded down to the nearest $10. All money collected from this fee goes into the Treasury’s general fund.
