VA Asks Permission to Keep Using Its Own Forms

Published Date: 1/2/2025

Notice

Summary

The VA is asking for public feedback by February 3, 2025, on two forms used to apply for special housing grants and to confirm eligibility. These forms help decide who qualifies for assistive technology grants without changing the current process or adding extra costs. Veterans applying for these grants should keep an eye out and get ready to submit their info smoothly!

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.

You must submit two VA forms to apply

If you apply for a Specially Adaptive Housing (SAH) Assistive Technology grant, you must submit VA Form 26-0967 (a certification about debarment, suspension, ineligibility and voluntary exclusion) and VA Form 26-0967a (statements addressing six scoring criteria). Loan Guaranty personnel will use these forms to decide if you meet the requirements for an SAH Assistive Technology grant under 38 U.S.C. 2108.

Estimated time to complete forms: 120 minutes

The VA estimates the average time to complete these forms is 120 minutes (2 hours) per respondent. The agency estimates 20 respondents per year and an estimated annual burden of 40 hours in total.

Collection extended without change

The Office of Management and Budget review is for an extension without change of the currently approved information collection (OMB Control No. 2900-0903). That means the VA is not proposing changes to the current forms or their use for SAH Assistive Technology grant applications.
