Published Date: 1/3/2025
Notice
Summary
NYSE American is updating its fee schedule to add charges for connecting to the trading floors of NYSE American, NYSE, and NYSE Arca. This change affects anyone who wants to link their systems to these trading floors through the Mahwah data center. The new fees will start soon, so users should get ready to pay for these new connections.
Analyzed Economic Effects
4 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.
New Monthly Trading-Floor Connection Fees
If you are a User connecting systems from the Mahwah, NJ data center to the NYSE, NYSE American, or NYSE Arca trading floors, the Exchange proposes monthly fees for Trading Floor (TF) Connections. The published fee lines include 1 Mb at $200 monthly, 5 Mb at 400 monthly, 25 Mb at 500 monthly, and 100 Mb at 800 monthly (as shown in the Fee Schedule table).
Billing Difference: VCCs Versus VRFs
The Exchange will charge TF Connectivity differently depending on the connection type: virtual control circuits (VCCs) connecting the Mahwah data center to a single Trading Floor are charged separately for each Trading Floor, while a virtual routing and forwarding service (VRF) that connects to multiple Trading Floors is charged as a single connection.
Connections Do Not Provide Trading Access
Establishing a TF Connection will not provide direct access or order entry to the Exchange's execution system, and it does not give FIDS or the Exchange any right to use the relevant Exchange's system. All TF Connections must be authorized by both parties before FIDS will establish them.
Service Is Voluntary and Non-Discriminatory
The proposed TF Connectivity services are voluntary, available to all Users on a non-discriminatory basis, and the Fee Schedule would be applied uniformly to all Users. The Exchange states the change would not apply differently to distinct types or sizes of market participants.
