How Much You Can Request and Grant Terms
LSC recommends a minimum request of $40,000 for General TIG and SEA Grants (lower budgets may be considered) and sets a $35,000 maximum for Technology Improvement Projects (TIP). There is no fixed maximum for General or SEA awards within the total TIG appropriation. Applicants may propose grant terms of 12–36 months for General projects, 12–18 months for TIP, and SEA Grants are set at 24 months. LSC currently operates under a Continuing Resolution through March 14, 2025 that maintains TIG funding at $5,000,000, and TIG award decisions are expected in summer 2025.
Who May Apply for 2025 TIG Funds
Only organizations that are current grantees of LSC Basic Field-General, Basic Field-Migrant, or Basic Field-Native American grants may apply. Eligible applicants also must receive basic field funding of at least a one-year term, be up to date on reporting for any existing TIG-funded projects, and must not have had a prior TIG terminated in the past three years for reporting or performance issues.
Application Deadlines and Process
Pre-applications for General TIG and SEA Grants must be submitted electronically in GrantEase by 11:59 p.m. ET on March 21, 2025; full applications for those categories are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on June 18, 2025. Technology Improvement Projects (TIP) do not require a pre-application; the TIP application system opens by April 1, 2025 and TIP applications are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on May 23, 2025. Applicants will be notified by late April 2025 if they may submit a full application.
